Meet the Pasadena Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door
We’re not a call center. When you dial (346) 623-5419, the person who picks up works out of Pasadena, lives within driving distance of your street, and probably knows somebody on your block. Otto Reinhardt started this company in 2004 with one truck and a standing rule: the name on the van is the name on the invoice. Twenty-nine years later, the crew has grown, but that rule hasn’t moved. These are the people who’ll show up at your door, and they’re the ones you’ll see at the H-E-B on Fairmont Parkway on Saturday.
Our People
Otto Reinhardt, Owner
Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004 and still answers the phone himself most nights, including the 9 p.m. call when a spring lets go and your vehicle is sealed inside. He quotes the job on that call and holds the number when he gets there. Otto can walk a homeowner through what’s actually wrong with a door before he even opens the truck, because he’s seen it all in Harris County, from salt-air corrosion near the Ship Channel to doors knocked out of alignment by shifting clay soil in Deer Park and La Porte. He’s the one who writes the 90-Day Done Right Promise on your invoice, and he’s the one who answers if something isn’t right. Ask anyone on your street. Otto is a palindrome reads the same from either end, same as the door.
Marco D., Lead Technician
Marco has been turning wrenches on garage doors for fifteen years, the last nine of them with Otto. He’s certified on LiftMaster, Genie, and Chamberlain openers and can rebuild a Wayne Dalton torque tube while he’s talking you through what he found. If your door sounds like a gunshot at 6 a.m., Marco’s the one who’ll tell you flat out it’s a spring, and here’s what it costs to fix. He grew up in Pasadena and still plays softball at Strawberry Park on Sundays. When he says a spring has maybe 3,000 cycles left on it, he means it, and he’ll show you how to check the rating on the spring itself.
Luis R., Senior Installer
Luis heads up our new door installations, which means he’s measured hundreds of openings in homes from South Houston to Baytown. He’s the reason a Clopay or Amarr door sits square in its frame and rolls quiet for years. Luis has a knack for older homes, the ones with foundation shifts and openings that aren’t exactly plumb anymore. He’ll account for the clay soil movement every house in this county lives with and hang the door so it tracks true anyway. Off the clock, he’s rebuilding a ’72 C10 in his garage. That patience shows up in his trim work.
Dana W., Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice on the phone when Otto’s under a door with his hands full. She’s been with the company for seven years and knows the schedule, the parts inventory, and most of the regulars by first name. She’s the one who makes sure you know when Marco or Luis is headed your way and what the quote was so there are zero surprises at the door. Dana keeps the no-trip-charge map straight by county and applies the senior and veteran discount before you even have to ask. If you call at 2 a.m. because your opener won’t respond and the truck’s trapped inside, Dana gets the ball moving without sending you through a phone tree.
Avery M., Apprentice Technician
Avery’s been riding along for a little over a year, learning spring changes, opener swaps, and cable work the way Otto did: hands on, supervised, and never rushed. He’s working toward his installer certification and already carries the same background check and uniform as the rest of the crew. Avery shadows Marco on emergency calls and is learning to read spring cycles the way you’d read tire tread. Around the shop we say the best apprentice is one who asks before he touches a tension rod. Avery asks. He’s from the north side of Pasadena and went to Sam Rayburn High.
One Standard, Every Job
Every truck that leaves for a job in Pasadena carries the same promise: the owner’s name is on the van, the invoice, and the license, and a live person answers the phone around the clock. Our crew works the same brands, LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor, and uses the same quote-first rule on every call. Nobody revises a price in your driveway. Nobody hands you a bill that wasn’t agreed to before the work started. The 90-Day Done Right Promise goes on every single invoice in writing. If something’s not right, one call brings Otto back, no runaround. That’s how we’ve operated in Harris County since 2004, and it’s why people tell their neighbors to call the shop down the road.
